OUR STORY

A Church Family

Rooted in Christ

Trees Union Church (TUC) was where it all started. TUC was established by oil field workers, owners, and others who saw the need for a church in the Trees City area. It was a multidenominational church where everyone came together to worship. Because there was no permanent reverend, preacher, or priest, services had to alternate Sundays.

As the community grew, many TUC members saw the need for a Baptist church that could meet every week rather than once a month or so. As they sought God’s direction on where to build, land that was once thought would never become available was offered to them. As the church continued to grow, more of this land became available.

Trees City was a community built on faith, family, friends, and oil. It once had its own U.S. Post Office and General Store. As nearby towns grew, it was determined that Trees City would become part of Vivian, LA, allowing Vivian to support the community’s addition into its infrastructure.
